The Search Dogs UK Instructor Development Pathway has been designed for experienced handlers who are ready to transition into instructing, as well as existing instructors wishing to develop a more structured, evidence-based approach to teaching. Focuses on the science of learning, instructor skills and the systematic development of reliable search dogs. Rather than simply teaching what to train, the programme develops an understanding of why training works and how to create clarity for the dog in front of you. Delegates learn how to systematically build behaviour, introduce challenge at the appropriate time and develop dogs capable of progressing confidently from foundation training to advanced operational or sporting performance.
