Information we collect

We may collect personal information when you use our website, contact us, make an enquiry, book a course or choose to subscribe to our communications.

This may include your name, email address, telephone number, booking and course information, information you provide about yourself or your dog, correspondence with us, and your marketing preferences.

Our website may also collect technical information relating to your use of the website, including information collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

We may use your personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;

  • process and manage course bookings;

  • provide the training or services you have booked;

  • administer payments and booking records;

  • provide relevant information before or after a course;

  • manage our website and services;

  • comply with legal and financial obligations; and

  • send newsletters, course updates and training information where you have chosen to receive them.

UK privacy law requires organisations to explain their purposes for processing personal information and the applicable lawful basis.

Bookings and payments

Our website and online booking services are provided using Wix. When you make a booking, information you provide may be processed through Wix and the services used to operate our website and bookings.

Online payments are processed using Stripe. Search Dogs UK does not need to receive your full payment card details in order to process payments made through Stripe.

Your information may therefore also be processed in accordance with the privacy policies and terms of the relevant service providers.

Email newsletters and marketing

You will only be added to our subscriber communications where you have chosen to receive them, for example by selecting the subscription option when making a booking or enquiry, or by signing up separately.

We may use your email address to send information about Search Dogs UK courses, training, availability, news and related services.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in our marketing emails or by contacting us at nwsw@mail.com.

Choosing not to receive marketing emails will not prevent us from contacting you when necessary about an enquiry, booking, payment or course you are attending.

The ICO distinguishes these service communications from direct marketing and requires appropriate consent or another applicable PECR route for marketing emails to individuals.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with organisations that help us operate our website, bookings, payments, communications and other business services where necessary. This includes providers such as Wix and Stripe.

We may also disclose information where required to do so by law.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including meeting any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

Where you have subscribed to marketing communications, we will retain the information necessary to manage your subscription and preferences. If you unsubscribe, we may retain sufficient information to ensure that your preference is respected.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold and use appropriate services and systems to help keep information secure.

However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights relating to your personal information. These can include the right to ask for access to your information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion or restriction in certain circumstances, object to certain uses of your information, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise your rights or ask a question about your information, contact nwsw@mail.com.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand how the website is used and support services provided through Wix.

Where required, you will be given choices about non-essential cookies through the website's cookie controls.
