Aim
To develop independent, accurate searching for Kong odour when food and toy distractions are present.
What you'll work towards
The dog should work past accessible food and toy distractions, locate Kong odour and perform its trained indication without interfering with the hide.
What we'll cover
Developing accurate searches around food and toy distractions while maintaining commitment to the target odour and a reliable indication.
Before you attend
Dogs should have an established indication and maintain it for at least five seconds without physically interfering with the target odour.
Physical interference includes licking, scratching, pawing, mouthing or attempting to retrieve the
hide.
The dog can search a 3 m × 3 m area and find 1–3 hides without false indications when the handler knows where the hides are located.
